Veneer stone is a product approximately 1 1/2" thick or less and manufactured or quarried to be less than 15 lbs per square foot.  These stones are typically used to cover a flat vertical surface such as a chimney or fireplace.

Veneers are available two ways, as a manufactured dyed concrete product or as a quarried natural product.  A natural stone is always going to have a more brilliant color and texture but are limited to color typically by region.  Manufactured veneer stones can be purchased in many colors, shapes, and sizes regardless of the consumers geography.
