Typically driveway stone is a crushed gray stone ranging in size from 3/4" to 1 1/2" in size.  However, many other stones can be used successfully.  The key to a good driveway stone is that it's angular.  Stones such as pea gravel, 3/4" wash gravel and 3/4" Delaware Blend look great but function poorly.
